Help & FAQ

Common questions about routes, fares and the app. If yours isn't here, send us a message.

Which areas does Arkobus cover?

The Kathmandu valley: micro, minibus and tempo routes inside the ring road, plus the main corridors beyond it. Routes outside the valley are not mapped yet.

Are the arrival times live?

They're estimates based on how long the route takes at that hour, not live GPS. Buses here don't broadcast their position, so we model the route instead.

Can I track a bus live on the map?

Not yet. Live bus tracking is something we are working on and it will be available soon.

How do you know the fares?

They are the fares set by the transport authorities, not our own numbers. If a conductor asks for more, you can report it to the police on 103, or send us the bus and route details and we'll take the complaint forward for you.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign in once with your phone number and your saved places, recent routes and history follow you to any device.

Does it work without internet?

No. Arkobus needs a data connection to search routes, check fares and follow a journey.

A route in the app is wrong. What do I do?

Send the route and the two stops we got wrong through the contact form. Rider corrections are how the map stays accurate.

Is Arkobus free?

Yes, and there are no ads inside the route flow.
